We welcome submissions across multiple formats, including full-length books for review, as well as short stories, poems, and non-fiction pieces for publication.

While our platform is open to indie voices from all around the world and all walks of life, our editorial mission actively prioritises and champions UK-based writers and creators aged 35 and older, who are often overlooked by traditional industry channels.

Our Fees & Premium Options

True to our founding mission, Not for Vanity is a free platform. We do not charge submission fees, and our standard book reviews, short story features, and poetry and community spotlights are completely free of charge.

To support our authors with specialised features, we offer two low-cost optional services.

• Author Q&A (£5): A structured questionnaire that you fill out independently. To ensure you look your absolute best, our team will fully review and edit your answers where needed, craft a professional editorial introduction, and publish the final interview on our platform. Turnaround time for Q&A is of fourteen working days from receiving the completed questionnaire, provided only minor editing to the answers is needed.

• Fast-Track Book Review (£20): For authors working under tight marketing timelines or specific launch dates, this option allows you to bypass our standard reading queue to guarantee a faster turnaround time of fourteen working days.

These are the only paid services we offer, and every penny goes directly toward supporting the upkeep of our independent community space.
