And now with the disease she contracted on her last Marine mission ten years ago still eating at her guts, Talice must come off her deathbed and stop Jance one last time. Like the rest of my books, even this one sees girls in powerful and prominent positions – there are several female starship captains, first officers, scientists, doctors, bridge personnel and so on.

CAN YOU TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF?

I worked a normal job all my life, from high school to my retirement in 2015. In 2005 I
began writing what likely turned out to be my Magnum Opus: The Ardwellian Chronicles epic fantasy adventure series. For thirteen years I wrote Ardwel; it’s peoples, places, and saga. Now, the Saga is complete and I started working on other things. I’ve read Science Fiction since I was in the third grade. I enjoy a mystery from
time to time. I don’t read horror, but I can write a pretty good tale of horror. Or dystopia. And I’m a First- Generation Trekker.​
With my current collections of Epic Fantasy, Military SF, SF Adventure, and Vampire
Urban Fantasy, I’m always on the lookout for a new project or topic. I don’t like to do the same type of stories over and over, and I’m certainly not adverse to researching a new genre. After all, learning new things is a good way to give your brain a workout and put that information to use in a good story.

Bloodlines was written as a standalone. But Julie, the main character, being the strong protagonist she is, refused to leave me alone. Since I told the story of who she was, I was compelled to tell the story of who she is, hence the second book. But in Julie’s story another character popped up and since good things come in threes, I started working on the third book. So here I am, with a collection: The Original, The Followup, and The Spinoff.

American soccer player Ryan Tarkington is regarded as the best goalkeeper in the world. However, his love life sits on the bench with no hope of seeing any action. Scottish goalkeeper Samantha Densmore is regarded as the best female goalkeeper in the world. But her team, Tottenham Hotspur of the Women’s Super League, is about to be folded by the owner, Chadwick Sutton, and with it, her career will be shown a red card. Little do either of them know the game has just begun. When an overeager angel mistakenly brings Ryan to Heaven, and he cannot return to Earth because his body has been cremated, a worldwide search for a goalkeeper begins so Ryan can resume his soccer career. After seeing several candidates, Ryan is not satisfied, until another candidate is found right in the middle of Tottenham, a suburb north of London. It just so happens to be the loathed owner of the Club, Chadwick Sutton. Ryan will save the team, then focus on leaving Tottenham to resume his search and get back on the field. Pretty simple right? I think the main theme the reader will embrace is that we all get wrapped up in our lives, play it safe and never realise there is a whole big, beautiful world out there for us to explore and embrace. When we dare to be great, destiny intervenes and wants us to see what lays behind the walls of safety. When we take that chance, we grow and become an even better version of ourselves. That’s when we are able to give back to the world, and to others, to make the world a better place. Those things will never happen if we are afraid to take that leap of faith to see what’s possible.

The other thing about the story is there is plenty of humour and lighthearted scenes that will give the reader an escape from the everyday bleakness of the news we see and hear from the world.

Vulnerable young women are going missing, while on an isolated farm in the beautiful Cornish countryside the body count is rising. Held prisoner in a damp, dark cellar, Glanna Pendrick gives birth to her abductor’s child. As her daughter grows a single thought sustains Glanna, she must escape before she is killed.

After writing romance for many years, I was gradually drawn to the darker side of life, where evil lurks amongst us. The ‘DI Grace Tallis’ Series in particular is set in Cornwall, a county I have strong connections with. 

I was born in Derbyshire, UK and now live on a small farm on the west coast of Ireland where I breed horses. While working as a magazine editor I published my first book, a sports biography, before starting to write fiction. I write both crime and romance novels. I also write for children as Jacqui Broderick.
